Are You Ready for Exterro XChange?

July 19, 2023

Plans are coming together for Exterro's biggest event of the year, the first annual XChange Global Conference for e-discovery, privacy, cybersecurity compliance, and digital forensics. The XChange Global Conference is the first conference of its kind to showcase the growing need for Legal GRC. The conference will be held September 19-21, 2023, at The Roosevelt in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. The conference, which is the first global user event Exterro has held since the acquisition of Zapproved,  combines two of the legal governance, risk, and compliance industry's premier events, PREX E-Discovery and inFusion, for three days of education and networking around E-Discovery, Privacy, Forensics and CyberSecurity Compliance.

All are welcome to attend Exterro XChange, which will bring together Exterro users, experts, partners, and thought-leaders in the legal, forensics, privacy and compliance areas for three days of sharing ideas, making connections, acquiring new skills, and exploring the converging disciplines of e-discovery, privacy, cybersecurity compliance, and digital forensics, all of which help large organizations maximize the value of the data they hold while mitigating the potential legal, regulatory, and security risks associated with it.

Asked about the conference and its genesis, Debora Jones, Exterro's Chief Operating Officer, said, "Zapproved’s PREX and Exterro’s inFusion events gave attendees the latest trends about litgation, privacy, compliance, incident response, and culture best practices. Our new XChange Global Conference combines the curriculum of both conferences, so that attendees will have a more enriching experience and learn from top experts in the industry on topics including privacy, generative AI, legal hold, document review, cybersecurity compliance, forensically collecting employee data, in-house management of Legal GRC, and more."

We're especially excited to announce that David McCraw, the lead newsroom lawyer for the New York Times, currently serving in the position of Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for the world's leading newspaper, will present the keynote address, A Report from the Other Shore: The First Amendment in a Rising Tide of Privacy. With over two decades served at the Times, McCraw has a unique perspective and will provide a first-hand account of his work defending press freedom and walk through the decisions that have marked the evolution of judicial thinking on what should happen when private facts become part of the day’s news.

McCraw isn't the only big name on the agenda for the event, though. Current and former federal judges, including Hon. Allison Goddard, Hon. Joy Conti, Hon. Charmaine Claxton, Hon. Kimberly Johnson, Hon. Xavier Rodriguez, Hon. Andrew Peck (ret.) and Hon. Ron Hedges (ret.), will also be participating in panel discussions and expert presentations. The conference will also feature leading academics, attorneys, and in-house lawyers including Maura Grossman, Principal at Maura Grossman Law and research professor in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo; Robert Levy, Executive Counsel of Legal Policy at ExxonMobil; David Cohen, Partner at Reed Smith LLP; Angie Nolet, Corporate Counsel at Redfin; and Adam Rouse, Director & Senior Counsel E-Discovery Operations at Walgreens.

Another big highlight of the event will be the Hero Awards, which honor professionals who exemplify exceptional leadership, collaboration, innovation, and resourcefulness, as well as achieving success in their roles and positively impacting their communities. Awards will be given in several categories, including Privacy, E-Discovery, Forensics, DE&I, Customer Hero, and The Hon. Shira Scheindlin Lifetime Achievement Award. Best of all, you can participate in the selection of these award recipients. Nominations for all are open through August 11, 2023, and may be submitted to the selection committee here!
