Bobby Balachandran is the founder, president and CEO of Exterro, Inc. After an extensive career building mission-critical applications in the financial services, healthcare and telecommunications sectors, Bobby founded Exterro with the conviction that the legal industry was rife with opportunities for process improvements that could be driven from lessons learned in other industries. Today, Bobby fulfills Exterro’s founding principles by leading the company in building a comprehensive platform for global corporations to mitigate risks, control costs, and have complete end to end visibility into their legal processes. Bobby holds a BS in computer science from Government College of Technology in Coimbatore, India, and an MS in computer science from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.
Shashidhar Angadi is the head of Chief Technology Officer at Exterro and drives the development of cutting-edge software to serve the needs of corporate legal and IT teams at Global 2000 organizations. Leveraging more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Shashidhar focuses on architecture frameworks, portals, security, service-oriented architecture, CRM and application integration in his leadership role at Exterro. He holds a BS in computer science from Bangalore University in Bangalore, India.
Clay Cocalis brings more than 25 years of sales management expertise in building and leading high-performing sales organizations within the legal services, financial services and information services industries. His leadership style carries a reputation for commitment to clients, especially in his diligence and responsiveness to client needs, long-term client satisfaction and customer partnerships.
Prior to joining Exterro, Clay served as the Chief Revenue officer for Morae Global. Before joining Morae he was Executive Vice President of Sales at Epiq (formerly DTI), where he successfully drove revenue and business growth while unifying two of the industry’s largest eDiscovery sales organizations. Previously, in sales leadership roles at Dow Jones & Company, Factiva, and Tower Group, Cocalis orchestrated robust growth that outperformed key competitors at each of these organizations.
Jenny Hamilton is respected as an innovator in the legal profession for her award- winning approach to building legal operations and data governance programs. In recent years, her practice has focused on the intersection of e-discovery, privacy and cybersecurity. After graduating from University of Texas, she went into major account sales for Gateway Computers where she was encouraged by in-house counsel to make a leap towards law school. Upon graduation from the University of Iowa College of Law, she moved to Chicago to practice commercial litigation. John Deere recruited her from private practice to spearhead the company’s e- discovery, investigations and data privacy. Early on, Hamilton’s team selected Exterro as their first e-discovery program, and Legal Technology News hailed Deere for their disciplined approach to technology acquisition. Hamilton continued on to receive c-suite recognition through the team’s transformative use of data analytics, building a scalable cross border program for forensic investigations and e-discovery, and leading a law department-wide technology initiative to achieve operational excellence. Following her 14-year career at Deere, Hamilton served as general counsel and data privacy officer for a legal services firm, HaystackID, as a strategic legal advisor to the c-suite and board while building out their legal and compliance operations.
Bobby Jahanbani leads Exterro’s Enterprise sales, Business Development and Sales Engineering teams. Bobby joined Exterro in 2013 and is a veteran corporate legal software sales leader with more than 25 years of experience. Prior to joining Exterro, Bobby held a variety of sales and management positions at iManage (Interwoven-Autonomy), CompuLaw, X1, Bridgeway, Mitratech and Datacert. Bobby holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and earned an MBA from the University of California Irvine.
Alice Lawrence is Exterro’s Chief Customer Officer, responsible for ensuring all Exterro customers achieve their desired outcome. Alice came to Exterro from Jordan Lawrence, the leading privacy and information governance software and services company, where she was Principal. During her time with Jordan Lawrence, Alice was the driving force behind the development and automation of all Jordan Lawrence software and services and helped ensure alignment with rapidly expanding legal and regulatory obligations. She has been instrumental in helping hundreds of companies develop comprehensive data inventories for GDPR Compliance.
Ray Pathak is Exterro’s VP of Data Privacy Solutions and leads the company’s privacy solutions strategy. Ray has been involved in the privacy space for over 15 years as a privacy operations leader and privacy software business executive. Ray brings with him a vast amount experience and thought leadership to Exterro. Prior to joining Exterro, Ray led Nymity as COO, leading all areas of the business. Prior to Nymity, he led the Privacy and Information Security program for Target Canada. Ray holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada and holds a Fellowship of Privacy certification from IAPP.
Bill Piwonka oversees all marketing functions for Exterro. His background is firmly rooted in B2B marketing operations. During the past 20 years, Bill has led marketing teams and initiatives spanning strategy, product marketing, product management, demand generation, marketing communications and business development. Prior to joining Exterro, he served as the vice president of marketing at Janrain. Bill has also held marketing management positions at EthicsPoint (now NavexGlobal), Centennial Software, Serena Software, Intel and Oracle. He earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a BA in quantitative economics from Stanford University.
Ajith Samuel is Exterro's Chief Product Officer and leads the company’s product strategy team in creating innovative solutions to help large corporations navigate information smarter. Ajith has 15 years of experience in regulatory compliance and designing and architecting large-scale information systems for the futures industry. He holds a master’s degree in computer applications from St. Joseph’s in Trichy, India.
Michelle Spencer oversees all finance and accounting functions for Exterro. During the past 15 years, she has led similar functions at global high-growth technology companies that provide cloud-based solutions and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) systems. She has been instrumental in guiding companies to achieve significant growth and profitability. Earlier in her career, she held executive and senior level positions primarily with companies in legal, retail, distribution, and manufacturing industries. She earned an MBA from Duke University and holds a BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas in Austin. She is a licensed CPA.
Dr. Thangasami is responsible for overseeing all functions at the Exterro R&D office, which includes software development, technical support and corporate management. With more than 10 years of research experience in distributed data sciences and doctoral degrees in computer science and engineering, she is ideally qualified to lead Exterro’s big data strategy and development of predictive and prescriptive analytics. In addition to her doctoral degrees, she also has earned a master’s degree in business administration.
Trey Tramonte oversees Sales for Exterro’s existing client base, as well as, Mid-market and Federal Sales along with, Strategic Partnerships. Trey is an experienced executive software leader and has successfully lead growth initiatives for a broad range of organizations from early stage start-ups to fortune 500 corporations. Before joining Exterro Trey served in leadership positions with BindView (Acquired by Symantec), BMC, Guidance Software, AccessData, Bloomfire, and NetSpend.
