Remember to Ask Yourself This Question Before Buying E-Discovery Software
December 16, 2020
When you’re making a decision about what e-discovery platform to use, it’s all too easy to get lost in the product’s features without thinking about another important (perhaps even more important) question.
How well does it play with your other software systems?
E-Discovery Software Connectors Matter
If your e-discovery platform isn’t well-integrated with other software or apps that are used at your organization, all the benefits it provides in terms of efficiency, automation, cost savings, and even effectiveness, could be lost.
Some key technology integrations for e-discovery platforms are obvious.
- Can it collect data seamlessly from a variety of sources, including laptops and desktops, mobile devices, social media platforms, cloud data sources, and on-prem archives?
- Does it import data from and export data to e-discovery point tools seamlessly?
- Does your technology include integrations that allow the collection and preservation of data from common collaboration tools like Zoom or Slack?
Remember that the data your organization stores is most useful when your teams are able to take action with your data—and the first step to having that ability is being able to connect to all of your organizational data sources.
The increase in remote working over the years—and especially over the last year as we battle a pandemic—along with the proliferation of the number of data sources we use has made this more challenging than ever before. Read our guide on how to effectively use collaboration tools and e-discovery software to better understand why enterprise-class connectors are of the utmost importance in today's regulatory and litigation environment.
