Exterro Fusion® Expands In-House Review and Goes Mobile to Improve Custodian Compliance

New upgrades to Exterros e-discovery software suite to make it easier for custodians to comply with legal hold obligations and users to manage more of the review process in-house

New upgrades to Exterro’s e-discovery software suite make it easier for custodians to comply with legal hold obligations and enable users to manage more of the review process in-house.

PORTLAND, Ore., August 19, 2013Exterro Inc., the leading provider of workflow-driven e-discovery software, announced two key advancements to the Exterro® software suite.

Exterro’s Fusion Compliance Portal now includes a mobile portal that allows custodians to more easily comply with legal hold requests while in the field. In addition, the review capabilities in Fusion Zeta, Exterro’s advanced data management application, have been expanded to help legal teams manage more of the review process in-house.

Both advancements were showcased at the ILTA 36th Annual Conference in Las Vegas, at Exterro’s booth (#444).

“We are constantly looking at ways to help our corporate clients reduce e-discovery costs and improve efficiencies when determining future technology advancements to add to Exterro,” said Ajith Samuel, Executive Vice President of Process Innovation at Exterro.

“The unique flexibility of the Exterro platform and the interoperability of the suite’s applications enable us to rapidly add functionality across both sides of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). These newest upgrades reflect our continued innovation and our ability to anticipate market requirements.”

Key Benefits of the New Enhancements

Improving Mobile Custodian Compliance

The Fusion Compliance Portal consolidates the information custodians and data stewards need to comply with legal hold obligations into an intuitive web portal optimized for both personal computers and mobile devices.

Custodians can now:

  • Review and acknowledge legal holds
  • Ask questions
  • Complete interviews

All directly from smartphones, tablets, and other personal devices.

Bringing More Review Controls In-House

Enhanced review features in Fusion Zeta allow e-discovery review managers to batch documents and direct them to the appropriate review resources depending on their nature or value.

These resources may include:

  • Outside counsel
  • In-house legal staff
  • Contract reviewers

The new functionality also provides visibility into key review statistics, such as reviewer productivity, enabling managers to select the most cost-effective review option for each project or document set.

“As the volume and complexity of corporate data continue to grow, enterprises struggle with the increasing amounts of information that may be relevant during e-discovery,” said David Horrigan, Analyst for E-Discovery and Information Governance at 451 Research, a division of The 451 Group.

“Companies require advanced technologies capable of keeping pace with these demands. Exterro has a strong understanding of the market and a solid corporate customer foundation to address this need.”

Exterro at ILTA 2013

Demonstrations and product information were available at Exterro’s booth (#444) in the main exhibit hall.
