Discover GDPR & Exterro's Solutions

GDPR is a data protection regulation that aims to safeguard the personal data of individuals in the EU by setting strict guidelines for its collection, processing, and storage, as well as providing individuals with more control over their data.

Understanding GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a comprehensive data protection law that came into effect in the European Union in May 2018. It aims to protect the personal data of individuals within the EU by regulating how organizations collect, process, store, and share this data. GDPR applies to any organization, regardless of location, that processes the personal data of individuals in the EU. It gives individuals more control over their personal data, requiring organizations to obtain explicit consent for data processing, provide transparent information about data processing activities, and allow individuals to access, correct, or delete their data. GDPR also imposes strict requirements on data security and requires organizations to report data breaches within 72 hours. Violations of GDPR can result in significant fines.
