Efficient Digital Forensic Case Management. 

Effective case management is critical to the success of digital forensic investigations. Practical strategies and best practices are paramount from evidence collection, intake, processing/analysis, and reporting. Communication with the submitting/requesting agency is the unsung hero of making a rather voluminous daunting case turn into a manageable small case. Resource allocation, streamlined workflow, and automation tools will all be discussed and how to properly execute these methods/tools without sacrificing accuracy and integrity.

Graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1998) with a BA in Legal Studies and a minor in Sociology. Worked for the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office (SC) from 2000-2005; 3 years on road patrol and 2 years in investigations. Joined SLED in 2005 in their computer crimes unit. Both a criminal investigator and a digital forensic examiner. Serve as the unit's field training agent. Investigative caseload is primarily internet crimes against children (ICAC), sextortion, network intrusions, and credible online threats of harm to individuals. Serve as the unit's field training agent. Task force officer with the United States Secret Service and a member of the SC Attorney General's ICAC task force. Extensive training (both as student and class proctor) at the Secret Service's National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) in the fields of digital forensics and network investigations. Other in-depth training includes the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS), and various vendor-based training. Instructor with the National Domestic Communications Assistance Center (NDCAC) Former instructor with IACIS and current member of their marketing team and host of the IACIS podcast.
