What Are Your Plans for E-Discovery Day?

November 16, 2023

With Thanksgiving week almost here, the e-discovery team at Exterro and our partners at ACEDS, EDRM, and eDiscovery Today all start thinking more seriously about E-Discovery Day. This December 7th, the ninth annual celebration of this day to recognize these unsung heroes of the litigation process, is almost here, and everyone who’s participating needs to start making concrete plans.

What webinars will I attend? Is there a happy hour or lunch and learn in my city? The best way to think about your E-Discovery Day goals is to attend or watch on-demand our career development webinar. But if that doesn’t work for you, you don’t have to wonder any longer, as this blog post will help you figure out what works best for you.

My personal recommendation: register for a couple webinars, even if you can’t make both. That way you’ll have an on-demand webinar to watch at your convenience on a slow work day during the holidays. Then make sure, if you live in one of the cities where we’re hosting events, RSVP and join in the in-person fun and enjoy a holiday season drink and bite with colleagues and friends old and new.

Without further ado, here are this year’s E-Discovery Day activities and links so you can sign up!

Join us for a lively discussion on real-world examples of when to use (and not use) a protocol, and the key elements to incorporate to benefit the parties and keep discovery moving forward (and off the judge’s calendar). Where is Waldo Generative AI on E-Discovery Day?

December 7, 12 pm ET/9 am PT

Generative AI has dominated the news cycle in 2023: from breathless claims about everything it can and will do, to fears it will annihilate humanity. We’ve seen colossal blunders on the part of attorneys who used GenAI to prepare court submissions and misguided responses from some courts. As we draft this description in the early Fall, it is almost impossible to predict where we will be on December 7. This panel will address both current technical and legal developments and challenges of GenAI from the perspective of computer scientists, lawyers, and judges.
