E-Discovery Day Fun for Everyone

For the first few years, E-Discovery Day celebrations have included a mix of educational events and opportunities, often online webinars, and fun, social activities, most often in person. Last year, understandably we cut back on the in-person events, but that unfortunately meant that we didn’t have as much e-discovery fun on the calendar.

This year, we’ve committed to finding a way to have some e-discovery fun, even if we still have to do so in a virtual format. I may be biased, but I think Exterro and our partners at ACEDS, ARMA, and EDRM have done a great job coming up with a pair of fun virtual events for e-discovery experts and novices alike to participate in: two trivia contests on the engaging on the popular Sporcle trivia platform.

What do these e-discovery trivia events look like? I’m glad you asked. 

Virtual Trivia Hunt: E-Discovery Team Edition

Starting at 3 pm Eastern/12 pm Pacific on Friday, December 34d, get together with a group of your e-discovery peers to search for the answers to 20 challenging general trivia questions and win a grand prize of $500 generously donated by FTI Consulting to share amongst your teammates.

The questions might be tricky, but you can use any means at your disposal to find the answers:

• Your knowledge
• Books, apps, friends that aren’t on your team
• The internet -- consider this an master class in the fine art of Googling

Don’t be shy! Sign up and you could win big. Just make sure your teammates know your team name so you can be placed together.

RSVP and you’ll get sent a link to the trivia contest when it goes live Friday afternoon. You can register and recruit the rest of your teammates later, so don’t miss out!

Once you get the link, it’s off to the races against your competition. Use every trick in the book to find the answers to the trivia questions and enter them into the Sporcle platform… and may the best team win!

Survey Says… It’s Time to Show Off Your E-Discovery ESP

Our second trivia contest of the day, wrapping up the E-Discovery Day festivities at 6 pm Eastern/3 pm Pacific on Friday, December 3rd, borrows a little bit from your everyday trivia contest and a little bit from a certain gameshow that features the catchphrase, “Survey Says…”

All the questions are e-discovery related, but we’re not asking you to know exact, factual answers. Rather you have to be in touch with what the e-discovery community thinks and come up with the responses that were most popular with your peers.

If you participated in our 2021 E-Discovery Day survey (and over 700 of you did!), then you’ve already got a head start on the competition, because you’re familiar with the questions asked. But that head start doesn’t mean much if you just give your answers without some consideration about what your peers might think.

It’s a team competition, but you don’t have to build a team before the event. Just show up online at the Sporcle link, and you’ll be paired with partners for the contest. Best of all, the winning team gets an awesome prize from sponsoring organization Consilio.
