Exterro Fusion® Bolstered with In-Place Preservation to Reduce ESI Spoliation Risks and E-Discovery Collection Costs

Newly launched Fusion In-Place Preservation enables centralized management of legal hold notification and preservation holds for structured and unstructured data sources

LAS VEGAS, Nev., October 28, 2013 Exterro Inc., the leading provider of workflow-driven e-discovery software, today unveiled Fusion In-Place Preservation. The new advancement will help enterprises reduce electronically stored information (ESI) spoliation risks and e-discovery collection costs by automatically suspending and reinstating document retention policies based on legal hold notification status. Fusion In-place Preservation, a new add-on to Exterros flagship Fusion Legal Hold application, is being showcased this week in Exterros booth, #555, at the ARMA 2013 Conference & Expo.

Our clients are increasingly concerned about sanctions and fines due to inadvertent destruction of ESI, said Ted Gary, senior product marketing manager at Exterro. The legal teams are seeking solutions to eliminate spoliation risk and reduce the high costs of collect-everything-to-preserve approaches. Fusion In-Place Preservation delivers unmatched visibility into all e-discovery preservation actions via a single, integrated dashboard.

Exterros in-place preservation technology supports both structured and unstructured data source systems, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365 and Informatica Data Archive. Additional systems will be added in the future. Fusion In-Place Preservation also advances defensible data deletion practices by providing a direct link between each legal hold and its associated preservation actions so deletion policies can be promptly reinstated as soon as holds are released.

In conjunction with this product advancement, Exterro has partnered with both Informatica, the worlds number one independent provider of data integration software, and RSD, a leading provider of information governance solutions for the enterprise. Exterro is being integrated with Informatica Data Archive to enable in-place information of structured artifacts potentially relevant to a matter and subject to legal hold. The integration between RSD GLASS® and Exterro® will deliver enhanced capabilities for in-place preservation and full lifecycle information governance to circumvent potential legal issues.

More information on these partnerships and the new capabilities in Exterro are available at Exterros ARMA booth, #555, taking place Oct. 28-30 at The Venetian Congress Center in Las Vegas, and on Exterros website.
