Nevada Enacts New Data Privacy Law

Why This Privacy Law is Important:

While similar to the CCPA, this Nevada data privacy law isn’t as broad and it showcases the ongoing trend in the United States that more data privacy laws are coming beyond California.

Overview:

Receiving less publicity than the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Nevada’s Senate Bill 220 now requires organizations from selling certain consumer personal data without the consumer’s permission. Consumers are given the option to opt-our of having their data sold. This law was enacted on Oct. 2, 2019.
