What is Real?

The rapid advancement of deepfake technology poses a significant threat to digital media integrity. Deepfakes, synthetic media created using AI, can convincingly alter videos and audio to misrepresent reality, leading to risks of misinformation, fraud, and severe implications for personal privacy and security. Traditional detection methods, which often rely on single modality such as visual or auditory analysis, fall short in addressing the complexity and sophistication of modern deepfakes.

This presentation explores the critical need for a multi-modal detection approach that integrates visual, auditory, and textual features to provide a holistic view of media content. By leveraging advanced AI techniques, including image forensic facial detection and recognition, and deep metadata analysis, we can enhance the accuracy and robustness of deepfake detection.
