Exterro Certification Day

On certification day, there are two major types of sessions - certification sessions and other training topics, which are explained in more detail below. Come prepared with your laptops and expect to learn how to get the most out of your Exterro software.

In addition to certification and training sessions, this year we are offering a CEDS Exam Prep Seminar facilitated by ACEDS.

Certification Sessions

There are three certification tracks, one each for Legal Hold, Project Management, and E-Discovery Data Management. In order to obtain certification, participants must attend both Part I and Part II of the course and pass the written exercises. If you are not interested in certification, you may attend the sessions, or you might find topics of interest in the non-Certification track. Please note - all classes are taught in Exterro's version 5 release.

Other Training Topics

For those individuals who are already certified or those who would like to participate in a variety of different sessions, these courses are designed to be hands-on, in-depth discussions of the described topics.

CEDS Live Exam Prep Seminar

The CEDS Live Exam Prep Seminar prepares you for the CEDS Certification exam. This seminar consists of three 90 minute sessions, with breaks in between and is taught by Helen Bergman Moure, CEDS. It is being offered as a complimentary add-on for inFusion attendees. Pre-registration is required.

In the morning session, you will meet the Exterro team, learn about Orchestrated E-Discovery, and learn how to configure your computer to join in the subsequent session. This will not be a hands-on session and breakfast will be provided.

CEDS Live Exam Prep Seminar

The CEDS Live Exam Prep Seminar is a comprehensive overview of the substantive and functional e-discovery process. It takes you through all the steps of the e-discovery process and prepares you for the CEDS Certification exam. This seminar consists of three 90 minute sessions, with breaks in between and is taught by Helen Bergman Moure, CEDS. Each session will follow the CEDS Certification Exam Prep Manual and include practice questions with time allotted for live questions from attendees. The CEDS Exam Prep Seminar covers topics including project planning, litigation hold implementation, data culling, collection, review, ethics, EDRM left to right, international considerations and more.

The CEDS Prep Seminar is being offered as a complimentary add-on for inFusion attendees - pre-registration is required. In addition, inFusion attendees that participate in the CEDS Prep Seminar will receive a $200 discount on the CEDS exam.

Please note, if you choose to participate in this seminar, you will not be able to attend the certification & training classes offered by Exterro on Monday.

Exterro Project Management, Part I

Certification Session

Learn the basic and advanced elements of Exterro's Project Management software. This session will start with the basics - navigation and how to create projects. You’ll learn to use templates to create project requests, including instructions and checklists. Note: Both EPM, Part I and Part II are required for certification.

E-Discovery Data Management, Part I

Certification Session

Learn the basics of the Exterro E-Discovery Data Management application. Create an Early Case Assessment (ECA) using a deep scan to perform detailed crawling, filtering and indexing prior to collection. Collect relevant documents from the ECA. You’ll also discover how to locate relevant documents associated to key custodians early in the litigation lifecycle and collect the electronically stored information (ESI) you need. Note: Both EDDM, Part I and Part II are required for certification.

E-Discovery Data Management, Part II

Certification Session

Building on the morning's discussion, you’ll see how ESI is managed, labeled, and Produced. You’ll learn to create labels for your review project, assign label sets and begin review. Labels can be applied individually or en mass via filtered criteria. We’ll show the features of managed review, allowing review projects to be assigned via selected criteria and sent to individuals or teams. Finally, you’ll learn how to produce files in a variety of formats, including image, native and others so you’ll be ready for the production requirements. Users will learn how to select and format the produced documents, adding needed elements, such as a Bates stamp, date, free text, watermark and more to ease the identification and retrieval of the document. Please note: Participation in the morning session is a prerequisite for the afternoon session.
