The Newest Version of Exterro’s Forensic Software Enables Investigations Whenever and Wherever You Are

Company announces the integration of QView® and the addition of similar face and object detection

Orem, Utah – September 17, 2020 – Exterro, a leading provider of integrated digital forensics and e-discovery software, today announced 7.4, the latest version of the company’s digital forensics software solutions that feature enhancements that make it possible for users to investigate all types of devices and data types regardless of what device they are stored on.

FTK® (Forensic Toolkit®) is a court-cited digital investigations software tool built to help customers find relevant evidence faster, dramatically increase analysis speed and reduce backlogs. FTK Lab is a large-scale investigations and processing engine that enables computer forensics labs of all sizes to provide their teams with collaborative analysis, centralized case management and web-based review, thereby dramatically streamlining the investigative process.

The 7.4 release seeks to address key challenges in the market by expanding the ability to gain quick insights into mobile and Internet artifacts and provide an easy, intuitive review with the integration of QView®. Enterprise segments will appreciate the ability to collect, analyze and compare volatile data from Microsoft® Windows® 10 as well as faster Mac® agent collections. FTK and FTK Lab customers will appreciate the following enhancements:

  • The seamless integration of QView, a simple, intuitive and customizable review interface. QView was designed with the reviewer in mind. Utilize multi-case functionality such as tagging, searching, labeling and bookmarking across multiple cases. Enjoy easy mobile chat application and multimedia review, along with similar face and image detection all backed by a unified database. And, a panels-driven interface means that you can customize the view to your liking.
  • Similar face and object detection allows investigators to quickly locate all images of a person or object across the case without having to train the system, which can use up valuable time and resources. Further, we give you the ability to upload an image from outside the case and compare it to pictures within the current case without ingesting it.
  • Portable case, a feature introduced in version 7.3, allows for offline review with a quick export in near-native format. Version 7.4 brings additional enhancements with the ability to sync labels, bookmarks, bookmark comments and notes, created by the reviewers back to the original case.
