Director of Marketing

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for directing the overall marketing efforts, including marketing strategy, product marketing, public relations, marketing programs, lead generation, sales support, marketing communications, and market research. In addition to ensuring that sales and business development efforts are supported through the development of marketing programs and sales collateral, the incumbent will ensure that identity, image, reputation, and message are accurately managed, consistently promoted, and consistent with overall corporate vision.

The Director of Marketing will be involved in all phases of sale cycle, analyzing the market and competition, positioning the products, segmenting the market, deciding the marketing communication mix, organizing campaigns and events.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Research, define, and document core product marketing components including product definition, positioning, value propositions, key features & benefits, SWOT, etc
    • Establish processes to ensure message is clearly articulated, communicated, and managed
    • Create and enforce policies and procedures governing corporate and product identity to ensure consistent implementation
    • Track market trends, assist with product strategy, and analyze competitive and or complimentary offerings
    • Establish process for consistent competitive intelligence gathering and knowledge transfer
    • Establish and strengthen relations with industry associations, press, and analysts by identifying and fostering relationships that will promote awareness of the Company’s goals and initiatives
    • Oversee the corporate database of marketing communication tools, including corporate presentations, speeches, webinars, newsletters, white papers, case studies, success stories, direct marketing copy, press releases, and articles
    • Define the demand generation plan and work across the company to execute demand generation campaigns
    • Define/refine integrated demand-generation programs and work closely with sales and subject matter experts within the company to translate business information into targeted communications materials
    • Create sales tools that will assist the sales teams in all phases of the sales cycle
    • Work closely with the sales and pre-sales teams to champion product positioning, and sales trainings
    • Collaborate with sales leadership to strategize coverage models to maximize revenue generation within target territories
    • Provide deal-support and expertise to help drive success in sales

    Skills and Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the enterprise software applications market
    • MBA a plus (but we also like brilliant people who didn't go to business school...)
    • Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading cross functional teams and interacting with technical, professional and executive levels
    • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals
    • Highly motivated marketing professional who is: ambitious, highly innovative, and analytical and can deal with a lot of ambiguity
    • Ability to self manage, and succeed in a highly matrix-ed and entrepreneurial environment
    • Proven ability to lead highly agile teams
    • Good understanding of Information Governance, GRC, and E-Discovery market trends are an added advantage
    • Deep understanding of business development, software, competitive environments, and enterprise software sales processes
    • Demonstrated ability to define, refine, and effectively communicate high dollar value propositions to key decision makers
    • Ability to manage multiple, often competing, priorities and tasks
    • Passion for gaining insights into customer needs, and translating those needs into effective product marketing and creative content and programs
